Different phylodynamic models based on coalescent and birth-death models support similar epidemic dynamics and exponential growth rates until roughly the mid-1980s for all the CEA sub-epidemics in Eastern Africa and Brazil.

An observational clinical case of Zika virus-associated neurological disease is associated with primary IgG response and enhanced TNF levels

An acute anti-flavivirus IgG, together with enhanced TNF-alpha levels, may have contributed to ZIKV invasion in the CSF in this patient, whereas no virus mutations were associated with the anatomic compartments (CSF, serum, saliva and urine).

Tracing the origin of the NS1 A188V substitution responsible for recent enhancement of Zika virus Asian genotype infectivity

The ancestral ZIKV strain carrying the A188V substitution arose in Southeastern Asia at the early 2000s and circulated in that region for some time (5-10 years) before being disseminated to Southern Pacific islands and the Americas.

Tracing the origin of a singular HIV-1 CRF45_cpx clade identified in Brazil

Spatiotemporal dynamics of the HIV-1 CRF06_cpx epidemic in western Africa
